THE REFUGE
The Refuge provides safe accommodation for single women and women with children, who are experiencing domestic violence. This means that any woman can come here if she is experiencing physical, mental or sexual abuse, or if her children are being abused. Workers are here during office hours to help and support you with your benefits, legal cases, re-housing and counselling and support. We can also help you get your belongings from your home, and to re-home your pets whilst you stay here. Women can stay here for a short time whilst they are thinking about what they want to do, or they can stay here until they are re-housed. The Refuge is a very pleasant, modern building with 2 kitchens, communal lounge, laundry, 3 bathrooms and showers, and an indoor play-area.

RE-SETTLEMENT SERVICE
CMWA Re-settlement service assists women and children with their re-housing options, adjusting to their new environments, obtaining places on courses, training in life-skills and helping them to rebuild their confidence. This service also assists women and children who have moved on from our Refuge, to help them re-settle.

OUTREACH SERVICE
The Project provides support for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and who live in the Central Manchester area. Outreach services are for women and children who are living in the community, whether they are seeking Refuge accommodation or not. The service is based in a centrally located building, where a worker can see women in safety and privacy. Home appointments can also be made where appropriate. We offer a group, including activities and support for women who are survivors of domestic violence.

CHILDREN AND FAMILIES PROJECT
This project provides support to children and families through provision of crèche, out-of-school clubs, holiday playschemes and family drop-ins. We also offer support with schools, social services and court issues, and by accessing relevant counselling and family support services. We aim to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children and families to play, learn, develop and grow together.

COMPLEMENTARY SERVICES
This service offers workshops including: stress-busting and aromatherapy, DIY, decorating, and so on. These activities are available for all the women who are in the Refuge.
